I wanted to start a blog years ago. Overtime though, I kept putting it off.
I thought, who would want to hear my thoughts. I have written spoken word poetry for years, written countless essays, and yet could not find the confidence in myself, to start my journey. I am beginning this blog, in conjunction with my youtube channel, to express myself and give myself a chance to say all the things bottled inside me for so long.
I plan to allow this to be a space where my creativity and thoughts run free, and that includes topics from lifestyle posts, to fashion, somethings more serious issues regarding gender equality and the struggle to truly make a life your's.
The idea behind this blog, as well as my channel, A Perfect Girl; came from a late night trip to Red Lantern, in Glendora, California. I was with an old friend, and as we sat there chatting away, I was joking about how perfect I was. My life had all but fallen apart in the weeks prior. A long term relationship had ended, and I was failing out of school. I was loosing grip with all my dreams and what I envisioned for myself.
I was joking how my ex's parting words with me, has been how perfect of a woman I was, and how he did not deserve me. We were laughing at how accurate he was, while also being so wrong. My life has been far from perfect, but I am a perfect example of what it looks like to smile through your troubles and not let life stop you from living.
I look forward to helping other women and men see that, having a perfect life, completely comes down to you, your attitude and actions.
Nothing that happens to you, can bring you down, if you do not let it.
